A visionary leader, dynamic preacher, and dedicated servant of the Gospel, Pastor J. Russell Harris is a man committed to advancing the Kingdom of God with passion, integrity, and excellence.

 

Early Life & Musical Foundation

 

Reared in the rich spiritual heritage of the United Holy Church of America, Pastor Harris’s journey of faith began in his formative years, deeply rooted in the church. Gifted in music, he served as a Minister of Music, skillfully playing drums and keyboard while leading worship in various local churches. His early exposure to ministry through music laid the foundation for his call to preach and lead God’s people.

 

Educational Excellence

 

Pastor Harris is a proud product of Edgecombe County Public Schools, graduating from North Edgecombe High School, Class of 2007. Recognizing the importance of theological education, he pursued higher learning at the North Carolina College of Theology, where he earned his Associate Degree in Theology (Class of 2024). With an unyielding commitment to deepening his theological insight, he is currently completing his Bachelor of Religion Degree, set to graduate in June 2025.

 

Ministerial Training & Pastoral Leadership

 

Pastor Harris has been trained and equipped for ministry under the esteemed leadership of his spiritual father, Bishop Shelton C. Daniel. Over the course of five years, he honed his pastoral gifts while serving as Associate Pastor and E-Campus Pastor, demonstrating unwavering dedication to shepherding God’s people in both physical and digital spaces. His leadership has been marked by wisdom, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in ministry.

As the Founder & Lead Pastor of Gracepoint Church - Tarboro, Pastor Harris is carrying out a bold, God-given vision to establish a Christ-centered, community-driven, and transformational ministry. With a heart for revival, restoration, and discipleship, he is committed to building a church where lives are changed, families are strengthened, and God’s grace is made evident in every aspect of ministry.

 

Family & Legacy

 

Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Harris is a devoted husband and father. He is blessed to share life and ministry with his wife, Lady Lotticia Harris, who stands beside him as a pillar of strength and grace. Together, they are the proud parents of two extraordinary children, Gabrielle Nadette and Ashton James, who are being raised in the same legacy of faith that has shaped their father’s life.
